Nations League Predictions

In Group 2 of the Nations League B, there are clear differences between the four teams. Greece and Germany have six points each, while the Finland-Ireland pair are the worst in class with no points over two days. That should change this Friday evening as the players arrive in Helsinki for the third meeting of a fixture they no longer want to play. You guessed it, but the Finnish dynamic is absolutely devastating, as the Marku Kanerva-led group's last five matches can be counted on one finger. It dates back to March 26, 2024, and since then, the Owls have had three losses and one draw, with a cumulative score of 5-0, including two consecutive defeats. If the Blues and Whites can't bounce back against an opponent of their caliber, relegation could spell disaster in the coming weeks.

Fortunately for the home side, the Irish also went on a string of tough performances with three consecutive poor results, all without scoring a single goal in 270 minutes! It's simple, the boys in green are in “worse” form than in Finland. To hope for a continuation at the end of the season, Heimir Hallgrimsen's men will need to produce an XXL performance away from home, as they did in the 2-1 win over Hungary last June. Without this parameter, the Greens and Whites are likely to leave one of the Nordic countries empty-handed.
