One in four French people is allergic to pollen, and air quality is one of the major public health problems. In the wake of this observation, La Chaîne Météo now offers you this information directly on your city’s forecasts.

It is part of our primary mission to provide you with the most reliable weather forecasts and warnings of situations that may affect your daily life. All of the products we develop are intended to assist you in your choices and decisions every day: how can you and your children dress, umbrella or sunglasses, motorbike or car, barbecue or movie, dangerous or non-dangerous situation?

To expand and enrich this mission, our teams have developed new predictions that now give you access to predictions Pollen And predictions Air quality Directly from the forecast of your city.

Pollen Predictions In Europe and the pollen season alone, the risk is calculated for six pollen grains: Alder, Birch, Olive, Grass, Maguiret, Ragweed, Risk Scale which includes 5 indices:

• 1: Very weak
• 2: Weak
• 3: Moderate
• 4: High
• 5: Very high

Regarding air quality, we measure the global climate index for the whole year. This index is based on 5 different pollutants:

• Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2)
• Ozone (O3)
• 2.5 micrometer (m) particles called PM2.5
• 10 micrometer (m) particles called PM10
• Sulfur dioxide (SO2)

Carbon monoxide is also suggested in our forecasts, but this compound is not included in the calculation of the atmospheric index. The Atmo Index has 6 levels:

• 1: Bone
• 2: Medium
• 3: Degraded
• 4: Bad
• 5: Too bad
• 6: Too bad

You will find all this information at the bottom of your city forecast. You may occasionally notice differences between our predictions and those you may find elsewhere. Like weather forecasts, these differences can be explained by the models used, which can sometimes be different.
