Picked the Springboks captain for the matches against Ireland

Published on

After defeating Wales at Twickenham on Saturday, the Springboks now prepare for two matches against Ireland on July 6 and 13. They will end the tour with a match against Portugal before continuing on to the Rugby Championship.

Rasi Erasmus has announced his squad's captain for the upcoming matches of this summer's tour. No less than Sia Kolisi, who was called up after Racing 92's exit in the playoffs, is someone who knows the role well.

A change for Erasmus?

“Zia will be the captain and will wear the number 6. He is in great shape, injury free”, Razi Erasmus announced in a press release from Springboks management. The coach's decision contradicts comments he made a few months ago, where he indicated he would prefer a captain who has not played overseas.
