PGA: Peloton captures the leading group

The lead of American Justin Thomas and Spaniard John Rahm in the first round of the Northern Trust tournament melted like snow in the sun during the second day ‘s activities in Jersey City on Thursday, but managed to retain his place in the second.

In the second ontting of the Liberty National Course, Rahman handled four clear birds to issue a 68 (-4) card. Thanks to a cumulative score of 130 (-12), he can be proud of being able to start the weekend rounds from the top of the standings. However, he is only one shot ahead of his closest successor, American Tony Finau.

Thomas was able to cut two punches of 71, but that didn’t stop him from slipping two places. He finished third in the first match of the Federal Cup, two shots behind the leader, along with two other Americans, Keith Mitchell and Sander S. C. Chowdhury. SC Chowdhury also had the best score of the day as he drew level with Jordan Speed, who managed to reduce the score to nine. They moved up 31st and 62nd positions respectively. Spite shares tenth place behind four shots behind the leader.

On the Canadian side of the event, McKenzie Hughes and Corey Connors advanced to the third and fourth rounds. After 36 holes, they have cumulative 136 (-6) and 139 (-3), giving them 17th and 46th positions.

For their part, Adam Haddin and Roger Sloan were the victims of the ax.

LPGA: Brooke M. Henderson improves her condition

Like Thai Moria Juttanugarm and Irish Leona Maguer, Harige had the best round of the day. Both golfers have a cumulative score of 139 (-5), sharing fifth place.
