Percy is set to feature eight opponents as he has his first race for coach Gordon Elliott at the Grade One Ladbrooks Champion at Down Royal.

Owner Philip Reynolds has moved his star from Pat Kelly’s stable after the nine – year – old’s last campaign ended with the fall of the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Percy’s presentation after showing his class at the RSA Chase at the 2018 Festival has not been successful on the fence.

He will have a new rider at Denise O’Reilly because his permanent partner, Davy Russell, is on the long-term injury list.

Half of the opposition on Saturday came from their own stable – Elliott announced Alpha des Oboux, DeltaWork, Ravenhill and The Storyteller in a contest featuring delegates from all three stables.

Henry de Bromhead Balco des Floss and Chris Dream are double-handed – Noel Meade’s pair of Snow Falcon and Tout Est Permis complete the field.

Elsewhere on the card, all eyes will be on another Elliott inmate when the Dual Cheltenham Festival winner, Sankro Lough Construction Ltd., reappears in the chase.

The eight-year-old cemented his career with a win at the Marsh Novices Chase.

Elliott also offers Battle Overdone in five areas where he completes Easy Game, Sizing Pot, and Yahoo Fish.
