Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ronan Glyn and other members of the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPET) will appear before a special Oriachas Committee today. Plan to live with Kovid-19.
Following criticism from committee members, he said it was unacceptable and wrong that the NPIT had not attended the last two sittings.
Questions from members of the special committee for the Kovid-19 response will also confront Health Minister Stephen Donnelly.
Committee Chair Independent TD Michael McNamara said committee members want to know more about the evidence based on the five-level plan.
He said they would seek clarification on the criteria for switching from one level to another.
Donegal and Dublin, which have the highest rates of the virus, are currently below level 3, while the rest of the country remains level 2.
The Chairman of the Expert Advisory Group of NPEET, Dr. Cillian de Gascon and Professor Philip Nolan, head of the Epidemiological Modeling Group, will also be in attendance.
McNamara said it was the committee’s first opportunity to question the NPED and the minister before releasing the final report on the project.
