Ireland’s Community Party returns on August 14 with a lineup that includes activities for the whole family, live entertainment and a dinner showcasing local businesses.
On Sunday morning at 11 a.m. the Camp Musicale de la Mitteine participants show will be followed by a party starting at noon as usual. On the menu, European hot dogs are prepared with sausages from Chez Mes Roses Boutique, plenty of whole grains, vegetables from Ireland’s organic farm D’Herbes en Garlic, and beers from Jackalhope Microbrewery in Plessisville.
On the outdoor stage, the Manouche Caribou music group will open the ball at 12pm with a show that will take you to the heart of the 30s and 40s for the joy of swing jips, sharing and camaraderie. William Deauville’s trio from Saint-Ferdinand would follow them. From Bob Dylan to Michael Jackson, through Les Coleaux and Nirvana, it’s a chance to revisit hits from yesterday to today in acoustic form.
In the afternoon, the circus troupe Les 4Apultés will animate the site with juggling, passing, unicycling, a unicycle by hand, acrobatic lifts and many other tricks that will amaze visitors.
Green Ireland this year hosts Mexican theater troupe La Liga del Teatro, which will perform its puppet theater show Burros!, preceded by a huge festive parade led by participants from the La Mittain music camp. Burroughs! A celebration for all, marked by a strong carnivalesque and popular character, witty humor and great musical and theatrical quality. This is the second show in an animal trilogy that takes the audience to large scale puppets.
Finally, kids have a lot of fun getting their faces painted and playing with inflatable games. Antique tractors can be visited and the day will end on stage with Olivier Lamontagne and Liam Gardner, young talents from Ireland who won the regional secondary final last year performing in the region.
