The regular security update for Windows 10 will be released in about two months, which will not only fix security vulnerabilities, but will also remove and install software – or more accurately, the company’s Edge Browser, so Revealed Microsoft Friday.
The update, which will be released on Tuesday, April 13th, will remove the Edge from the older version of computers that install it. And its latest version based on Chrome Google will install on them if they are not already installed.
On the one hand, this is a perfectly understandable step. This is because the original EdgeBrowser browser, which came with the Windows 10 operating system in July 2015, will no longer be supported after next month’s security update, and will end on March 9th. In other words, this browser does not repair later security vulnerabilities in the browser. On the other hand, removing one software and installing another without the user’s consent is a controversial step, and the company has already been heavily criticized for using it in the past, and it is not clear why it does not allow users to make a choice about it. .
The removal of the original Edge is valid for all versions of Windows 10, from those released in the first half of 2018 to the version released last year. The installation of the new browser is valid for all versions except the latest ones It has already come up with a new bra. The company then promises to replace the old browser with older versions of the system, using shortcuts to the old browser to the new browser, but without changing the default website for selected users of other companies’ browsers – another controversial move.
