McDonald’s will be launching a plant-based burger in collaboration with Beyond Meat in the US in February.
The giant fast food chain, which has limited stock and is limited to 600 stores, wants to test the acceptance of the American public.
McPlant is a burger made from peas, rice and potatoes that mimics the taste and texture of beef served in vegan sesame buns.
In February last year, McDonald’s and Beyond Meet announced a three – year partnership. Chain stores in the UK and Ireland already offer herbal burgers, made exclusively from traditional beef burgers.
