Due to the special ‘charisma’ on the pitch, Mauricio Pochettino compared Deli Allie to Ronaldinho and Diego Maradona.
Poach, who signed for Tottenham from MK Done in 2015, has been named England Regular and twice named PFA Young Player of the Year.
The life of the midfielder under Jose Mourinho has been difficult after being knocked out of five of the seven Premier League match day squads.
He still has the full support of his former player, highlighting his talent and likening it to two World Cup winners.
Pochettino said: “There is no other player or better player than Diego Maradona.
Maradona was a talented, talented player, but strong, fast and powerful, but his character was that of a winner.
“Charisma and energy made him very special – charisma is the best quality for him.
Ronaldinho was another player with similar charisma when we played at Paris Saint-Germain.
“Of course Dele was with Alli in the beginning – he was this kind of charisma. People love Dale.
“But Ronaldinho was an amazing player – a talent full of charisma like Maradona, and that’s what made him a truly special player.
“I don’t want to talk anymore, but the kids loved him when Dele scored goals.
“Kids feel this energy and charisma, they love it and follow it. Like Maradona, Ronaldinho has this special have energy.”
Pochettino appeared as a guest pundit in football on Monday night for Leicester’s victory in Leeds.
He was quick to defend the 24-year-old playmaker during the current sinking – but he was reluctant to comment on his struggles with Mourinho.
Poch added: “They have to manage him – it’s not my responsibility anymore.
“Dele was an amazing player for us from the start when we arrived from MK Dons.
“The way he had hunger and energy. He was always in line, but we always tried to help him and told him to go one step back.
“He’s an amazing genius for England, and certainly still young. We have developed a special relationship with the whole team. I hope everything goes well for everyone there.”
