MARTIAL ARTS - Five young Drummondvilleois shine in Ireland at the WKC World Championships.  – Twenty55

This great adventure quickly began with races for sponsors and fundraising campaigns. Many generous donors have contributed to this achievement. On October 7th, this great group took off to fulfill a dream: make it to a world championship. On reaching the hotel, one can observe the preparations and frenzy of this grand event. There is a beautiful energy there. In the evening of the opening ceremony, the youth and their families realize the greatness of this competition. There are many countries.

Everyone is motivated to see so many passionate people come together with one thing in common: to surpass themselves. Martial arts require rigor, discipline and training. These five athletes and students at the Drummondville Karate Kung Fu School have been working there for years to develop these skills.

Drummondvilleois Mailey-Rose Chen took second place in the world in the Chinese style category

Drummondvilleois Maylee-Rose Chen placed second in the world in the Chinese style category at the WKC World Championships.

Their tireless efforts from students at the Drummondville Kung Fu Karate School have led them to compete among the world’s best athletes in the Chinese style category. Alex Moen took first place in the 13-14 age group, Maylie-Rose Chen took second place in the 13-14 age group, Mathis Descoteaux took second place in the 13-14 age group, and Hugo Lemire took third place. Noah Moen finished fourth in the 15-17 age group and 13-14 age group. All five athletes, who returned to the country from October 14, are motivated to excel and evolve in their sport.
