Manufacturer prices rose 1% in the euro zone in April. The result was 0.9% for the European Union as a whole.
Eurostat, the official statistics office of the European Union (EU), released the data on Wednesday (2).

In March, prices rose 1.1 percent in the euro area and 1.2 percent in the European Union.

On an annualized basis, prices in the Eurozone and the European Union increased by 7.6 per cent in April 2020.

Between April 2020 and April 2021, prices in the energy sector rose by 20.4 per cent; 6.9% for intermediate goods; 1.7% for durable consumer goods; 1.3% for capital goods; And 1.1% for durable consumer goods.

The largest increases were in Ireland (34.1%), Denmark (13.3%) and Belgium (13%). Only Cyprus recorded a decrease (2.2% decrease)
