A technical glitch that left 16,000 coronavirus cases unreported has delayed attempts to find contacts of people who tested positive.

Public Health England reported that between September 25 and October 2, 15,841 cases were excluded from daily cases in the UK.

And then added them There were 12,872 new cases on Saturday And 22,961 on Sunday.

The PHE said it had informed everyone who tested positive. But that means there were no other people in close contact with them.

The issue was resolved when the arrears cases were handed over to the tracers by 01:00 on Saturday.

The technical problem also means that the daily total reported on the government’s Corona virus dashboard last week is less than the actual number.

Hugh Pim, the BBC’s health editor, said the weekend’s figures were closer to 11,000 than the 7,000 reported.

Labor called the blockade “shambolic.”

  • How many cases are there in your area?
  • What are the Kovid Laws you live by?

Meanwhile, Kate Binham, head of the vaccine task force, said Financial Times Less than half of the UK population can be vaccinated against the corona virus.

She said people under the age of 18 would not be vaccinated. It is an adult-only vaccine for people over the age of 50, focusing on health workers, care home workers and the infirm.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson Be warned that it will be “bumpy until Christmas” As the UK deals with the corona virus.

The prime minister told the BBC’s Andrew Marr on Sunday that he hoped to defeat Kovid. The public was asked to “act with boldness and common sense.”

At a time when the testing system is under intense scrutiny after reports of delays and a system struggling to keep up with demand, the latest revelation could not have come at a worse time for the government in Westminster.

As many as 16,000 additional positive test results have not been delivered to the test and trace system, so their recent contacts are not immediately followed.

Experts advise finding contacts within 48 hours.

Officials say the technical issue, which is thought to be related to IT, has been resolved and all new cases were reported over the weekend.

But all this will not improve public confidence in the testing system in England.

This pollutes the water for policy makers who call the Prime Minister a “critical moment” and for officials trying to detect the spread of the virus.

On Sunday, the government’s Corona virus dashboard announced that there were 22,961 lab – confirmed corona virus cases in the UK, according to 09:00 BST, bringing the total number of cases in the UK to 502,978.

As of Sunday, 33 people had died within 28 days of testing the Kovid-19 positive.

A note on the dashboard reads: “As of September 3 and 4, the cases included 15,841 additional cases between September 25 and October 2 – so they are artificially high for England and the UK.”

Michael Brody, interim chief executive of Public Health England, said a technical problem was discovered on Friday night, October 2, in the process of converting Covid-19 positive lab results to reporting dashboards.

Positive test results This is due to some data files exceeding the maximum file size.

“After a quick investigation, we found that 15,841 cases reported between September 25 and October 2 were not included in the daily Kovid-19 cases. Most of these cases happened in the last few days, ”he said.

“Each of these cases received their Covid-19 test result as usual, and all those tested positive were instructed to isolate themselves.”

He said they worked with the NHS test and trace to resolve the issue quickly and transferred all existing cases to the NHS test and trace contact tracing system.

“We are fully aware of the potential concerns and have taken stronger action as a result,” he said.

Susan Hopkins, Joint Medical Adviser at Test and Trace and Public Health England, added, “We conducted a comprehensive public health risk assessment to ensure that cases with arrears are prioritized for effective detection of contact.”

The PHE said the NHS test and trace had ensured that the contact tracers were working properly and were working with local teams to ensure that they had the resources to contact all cases immediately.

Increases the number of call attempts from 10 to 15 in 96 hours.

Jonathan Ashworth, Labor’s shadow health secretary, said: “It’s shocking, and people across the country are worried.

“[Health Secretary] Matt Hancock should come to the House of Commons on Monday to explain what happened on Earth, how it affected our ability to contain the virus, and what he intends to do to address testing and detection.

Bridget Phillipson, the shadow chief secretary of the Treasury, told the BBC Breakfast: “Has there been any influence on government decision-making on local regulations?”

Health Department Spokesperson People who receive test results are not affected by this problem All those who tested positive were reported as normal.

News of the daily number of breakdowns first came as the UK announced tens of thousands of new corona virus cases for the first time since the start of massive testing.

Due to a technical problem some cases in the week were not recorded at that time, so these are included in Saturday’s data.

The daily high rose to 7,143 on Tuesday from 4,044 on Monday. However, it remained steady daily for the next four days – with a difference between 6,914 and 7,108 – at a time when continuous increases were expected.

Then came the big leap – a much bigger daily increase than ever before in the entire epidemic – which was announced on Saturday, five hours later than usual, with a government explanation.
