Kate Garvey admits to her Instagram followers that she’s only a week away from returning to Smooth FM.

The 53-year-old presenter revealed that he had suffered a blurred vision. Even the glasses were hard to see.

Kate returned to radio duty only last week when her husband Derek Draper was hospitalized with the corona virus.

Despite facing Covid-19, Derek continues to struggle for health at the hospital, while Kate tries to find a new normal for herself and their two children.

No matter how hard she tried, Kate suffered a setback this morning when she was forced to wear a brave face and head to work without sight.

Going to Instagram to post a video featuring great features in the studio, Kate asked her followers: “Morning! Am I smart?”

“I always thought it would be a little silly to get my glasses on,” she said. “But if you listen to what I say on Smooth Radio, you know that nothing has really changed.

“I have a bad eye,” Kate explained. “It really hurts, I do not know what I did. I can not put contacts, I wear my glasses.

“However, the songs are always as good as they are on a smooth radio, so join me!” She insisted.

Then Kate joked: “You can see if I’m getting the band names right on the playlist for an extra game, because I can not read well.

“But it’s relaxing to hear, that’s what counts!” They added.

Fans were quick to support the former I Am A Celebrity star in the comments.

“You’m an inspiration!” Someone jumped.

“Looks as beautiful as Kate,” another told her.

Kate’s husband Derek has been in hospital since March, a turbulent year.

Kate has been on leave from the radio show for the past six months to support the family and has been performing duties in Good Morning UK.

Kate emotionally returned to ITV studios in August, where viewers were updated on Derek’s condition.

She said she had not yet seen Derek in person and that doctors were trying new methods to bring him back to health.

The virus clotted Derek in his lungs, made holes in his heart and made him diabetic, ‘said Kate,’ attacking everything. ‘

Doctors warned her she would never recover, but Kate refused to give up hope.
