Josh O'Connor and Emma Corey nominated for The Crown Critics' Choice Award

In the fourth season of the royal drama produced by Netflix, O’Connor starred as Prince of Wales and Corinne as Princess Diana of Wales.

O’Connor, 30, was named Best Actor in a Drama Series, while Corinne, 25, was named Best Actress. They will face Bolivia Coleman, who is recognized for her portrayal of the Queen.

Their teammates Tobias Menzies and Gillian Anderson were nominated in the second category.

The crown was shortlisted for Best Drama Series, and has a total of six Critics’ Choice Award nodes, mostly affiliated with the Oscars.

Emphasizing the tumultuous relationship between Charles and Diana, Netflix’s latest drama series took place in the 1980s, portraying Anderson as Margaret Thatcher. Menzies played his role as Duke of Edinburgh.

Another Netflix show, the detective thriller Oscar, is also gearing up for the best drama series, as its cast includes Jason Batman, Laura Lynne, Tom Pelfrey and Julia Garner.


Welsh actor Matthew Rice has acknowledged the lead role in the play Perry Mason, and other celebrities in the UK include Cynthia Erivo for her role in the horror series The Dutsider.

Small Ax star John Boyega has been nominated for Best Actor in a Limited Series or a film produced for TV, with The Hague Grant for The Undoing and for Irishman Paul Mascal for the general public.

In the actress category, My Mela Koyal has received recognition for her performance in the film I May Destroy You, and will face Daisy Edgar-Jones and Ania Taylor-Joy of Normal People for the Queen’s Gambit.

Homeland star Claire Dane confronts Best Actress Coleman and Corey in the category, which includes Journey Smolett for Lovecraft Country and Christine Barneski for The Good Fight.

O’Connor, Batman and Rice were nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series. This Is Us with Sterling K. Brown, Jonathan Majors, Lockraft Country, and Bob Odenkirk for Best Call.

In addition to Osark and The Crown, the best call nominees are Better Coles Saul, The Good Fight, Lovecraft Country, The Mandalorian, Perry Mason, and This Is Us.

Shitz Creek, which was nominated for Best Comedy Series and won the Most Popular in Comedy category with nodes for its stars Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Daniel Levy and Anne Murphy.

Sir Steve McQueen’s anthology series Small Ax was selected as the best limited series, along with I May Destroy You, the BBC’s Normal People, and the chess play The Queen’s Gambit.

In total, Netflix received 26 nominations.

Nominations for the Critics’ Choice Awards will be announced on February 7, and the ceremony will take place on March 7.
