The state visit marked an important milestone nearly 30 years after the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the statement said. Both sides affirmed the importance of further strengthening the Vietnam-Ireland relationship and agreed to cooperate for the peace, cooperation and development of the world and the prosperity and comprehensive development of both countries in accordance with the basic principles of international law and the Charter. of the United Nations.

Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris has welcomed the announcement by leader Toh Lam that Vietnam plans to open an embassy in Ireland. The two leaders agreed that the embassy will play an important role in enhancing good friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Ireland. Both sides welcomed the formation of the Ireland-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Both sides reaffirmed the importance of cooperation in the face of security threats, and both countries decided to increase exchanges, promote cooperation in the field of cyber security and prevent and combat transnational organized crime. They recognized the importance of promoting human rights in accordance with each country's characteristics, laws and international commitments.

Both sides welcomed the establishment of a strategic partnership in the field of higher education and affirmed the importance of building a comprehensive partnership framework at the appropriate time.

Both sides reaffirmed the importance of fully implementing the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and discussed the value of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA). Both countries.

To Lam thanked the Irish Government's Development Cooperation Program for helping Vietnam achieve several development goals ahead of schedule. Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris has confirmed that his country will continue to support Vietnam in areas such as climate change adaptation, humanitarian aid to overcome the consequences of landmines, landmines, nutrition, higher education and governance.

Both sides are committed to strengthening coordination and mutual support in international and regional forums, particularly the United Nations and within the ASEAN-EU framework.

Both sides reaffirmed the importance of maintaining peace, stability, security, safety, freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea, and the importance of settling disputes through peaceful means in accordance with international law, particularly the United Nations Convention of 1982. Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). Both sides affirmed the need to establish a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and international law. They underlined the principles of respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all countries.
