James McLean leaves stock to join Wigan on one-year deal | Football news

Former Wigan winger James McLean has returned to the club after signing his first one – year contract.

The 32-year-old returned to DW Stadium six years after leaving the lattice and introduced himself to fans ahead of Tuesday night’s home game against Wycombe.

McLean arrives for the undisclosed award from Stoke, and will provide a wealth of experience for Leem Richardson, who has played in more than 300 Premier League and Premier League matches.

The Republic of Ireland International is expected to be available for Wigan’s League 1 trip to Charlton on Saturday.

McLean played 29 games for Stoke last season, scoring twice.

He joined Wigan in 2015 and spent three years with the club after playing for West Brom.
