Twelve people were injured on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Dublin after turbulence over Turkey on Sunday, the Irish capital's airport said.

Six passengers and six crew

“Six passengers and six crew members (12 in total) were reported injured in turbulence while the aircraft was flying over Turkey,” Dublin Airport X (previously on Twitter) said without specifying the severity of the injuries.

The Qatar Airways flight “landed safely as planned before 1pm this Sunday,” the airport added.

Emergency services including airport police, fire and rescue services have been set up.

“The Dublin Airport team continues to provide full assistance to passengers and airline staff,” the source added.

One person died in London-Singapore

The incident comes after a 73-year-old British man died after suffering severe turbulence on a Singapore Airlines flight between London and Singapore on Tuesday. About 100 people were injured, many with skull, brain and spinal injuries.

Photos taken inside the Singapore Airlines plane after it landed in Bangkok showed a topsy-turvy cabin filled with food, drinks and luggage, with oxygen masks hanging from the ceiling.
