Already ten… In 2014, Ireland inaugurated the world's longest coastal path: the Wild Atlantic Way, a tourist route for some. 2,500 km Pacha travels along the west coast of the island Malin Headto the island's northernmost port in County Donegal KinsaleIn County Cork, in the southwest of the country.
Passing through nine coastal counties, the route is dotted with coves, cliffs, caves and cliffs. Many beautiful landscapes immortalized in pictures like Ryan's Daughter, Star Wars, The Banshees of Inishrein And Common people.
The Wild Atlantic Way can be explored on foot, bike or car, enjoying one of its 63 beaches or one of the five national parks, the famous Aran Islands and an excursion to one of the 26 islands with hundreds of inhabitants. On the uninhabited offshore islands, enjoy the natural beauty of its two dark sky reserves and sites Skellig Michael, Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Not forgetting the legendary Irish hospitality to be shared during a traditional music session at a pub in a town along the route: Westport, Dingle and Limerick or Galway.
Of course, you don't have to travel all the way across the Wild Atlantic to soak up Ireland's beauty. If you want to do it, allow at least 2-3 weeks (and, again, at a leisurely pace!). Limiting yourself to well-chosen sections of this scenic route, there is nothing to stop you from enjoying the beauty of the green island.
