The two leaders agreed to promote the exchange of representatives at all levels, especially at the highest level, and to actively implement existing cooperation mechanisms.
On this occasion, the General Secretary of the Communist Party and the President of Vietnam announced that his government was in the process of establishing a Vietnamese embassy in Ireland. Both leaders expressed confidence that this decision would open a new phase of development in bilateral relations.
Regarding economic, trade and investment cooperation, the two leaders emphasized to effectively utilize the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), promote trade and investment relations and support the business communities of both countries. The aim is to increase the trade turnover between the two countries to 5 billion dollars by 2026. The Irish President noted Vietnam's proposal to accelerate the ratification process of the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVPA). Business communities in both countries. They agreed to strengthen cooperation in multilateral forums in several areas, including responding to global challenges, climate change, food security and ensuring supply chains. Both sides expressed their support for the position of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on the East Sea issue to ensure peace, stability, security, cooperation and development in the region and resolve disputes through peaceful means based on respect.
