Washington:

Indian-American Congressman Dr Ami Bera on Friday expressed concern above the Chinese aggression alongside its India border and questioned Beijing to use diplomatic mechanisms instead than force to settle boundary difficulties with the neighbouring state.

His feedback came amid a border standoff in between Indian and Chinese militaries.

The two sides are engaged in diplomatic and army talks amidst escalating stress adhering to the violent clashes in Galwan Valley on June 15. 20 Indian Army personnel had been killed in the clash.

“I encourage China to use its longstanding diplomatic mechanisms with India to deescalate the condition instead than pressure to settle boundary issues,” Dr Bera, the longest-serving Indian American in Household of Associates, reported in a tweet.

As Chair of the Household Overseas Subcommittee on Asia, Dr Bera mentioned that he is “involved by continued Chinese aggression together its border” with India.

“Even though this is a subject in between China and India, it is my view that escalating military forces on both side of the Line of Actual Handle will be counterproductive and unhelpful,” Dr Bera claimed.
