Icardi netted twice in the regular win

Published on

Mauro Icardi scored a goal in each half to give Paris Saint-Germain a 2-0 League 1 win in Sunday’s Stade Auguste-Delon match.

PSG started their latest title defense with back-to-back defeats but have now won three matches in a row without conceding.

Within nine minutes, Icardi overtook Predrag Rajkovic to clinch the clinic finish, putting the champions out of form.

Thomas Tuchel had more chances to extend the lead but in the end two goals were enough against the Reims team.

Six minutes later, Rajkovic turned down Kylian Mbabane, but in the PSG opener, Icardi played a big role in throwing the ball into the far corner.

The visitors, who failed in their last two meetings with the Reims, added one more moment with Angel Di Maria’s drive and Icardi’s two-minute saved header.

Neymar also doubled the team with a smashing run that ended when the superstar forward threw a shot from inside the six yard box.

Those wasted chances did not return to hunt down Tukal’s men, however, and Icardi Mbabane’s squared pass was deflected by the best team move with 62 minutes.

Mbabane must have added some glosses to the late scoreline, but a horror missile was the culprit and somehow fired without multiple targets, and substitute Pablo Serbia also slammed an attempt from inside the box.

what does it mean? Third, PSG is easy

He has now conceded three wins in a row without conceding PSG, to seventh on the list and four points from early pacers Rennes.

The champions managed to score only two goals in 21 attempts, but the victory was just that, and Touchel hopes to maintain this momentum.

Icardi leads from the front

The attacking PSG line-up was led by former Inter frontman Icardi, which includes Neymar, Mbabane, Di Maria and Julian Draxler.

He scored two goals to score this season and created four chances for his teammates on the all-round display.

Mbabane lost a sitter

The dominant PSG never doubted this victory, but they should have won by a more convincing margin. Mbabane was mocked by Serbia but plans to leave the next line-up, with France International scoring two assists on the Icardi – set aside – to rejoice in his performance.

What’s next?

PSG host Angers on Friday, as Reims League leaders head to Rennes for the next shoot in a week.
