HSE may appoint airport staff as contract tracers

HSE is examining the hiring of Shannon Airport staff who have been laid off as Kovid contact tracers.

Airport management met with HSE to explore the possibility of hiring staff engaged in temporary or part-time jobs in contact tracing.

Dooley, who raised the issue in Cyan, said airport workers have a standard of living commensurate with their expected income and are now under pressure to pay off mortgages, tuition fees, car loans and other common expenses.
