France forced its copy to be reviewed by Brussels

The European Commission validated the French CAP plan after challenging it. In the case of doubt, an orientation according to Brussels is not ecological enough.

France had to revise its copy several times European Commission Finally giving the green light to the new version of the CAP – the Common Agricultural Policy. Because when Finland, Ireland, Spain, Denmark, Poland and Portugal won the agreement from Brussels, France was summoned to examine its copy. The new CAP, which will take effect from January 2023, now provides stronger support mechanisms for agricultural programs that pride themselves on more environmentally friendly technologies. In total, the CAP budget is €387 billion until 2027, of which €270 billion will go directly to support for farmers. Another highlight of the new version of the Common Agricultural Policy: Member States’ commitment to reduce the use of pesticides by 50% by 2030 and to devote at least 25% of agricultural land to organic farming.
