Fireworks protesters honk horns near Gracie Mansion to wake up de Blasio

Scores of drivers honked their auto horns in close proximity to Gracie Mansion Monday night to disrupt the mayor’s slumber in protest of the modern uptick in illegal fireworks shooting off across the town.

“We need to send a concept that we will need to conclusion these chaotic fireworks that [have] been going on across the town,” claimed Councilman Chaim Deutsch, who attended the protest.

“So if we just can’t sleep, Mr. Mayor, you won’t snooze,” the councilman reported in a online video assertion posted to his Twitter account.

Deutsch said the demonstration was envisioned to attract a handful of hundred people.

A movie posted to the Twitter enthusiast site of community Orthodox radio personality, Heshy Tischler, shows a line of around a dozen automobiles idling close to Gracie Mansion, with a lot of blaring their horns for at minimum a moment straight.

In a different video clip posted to his own account, Tischler, who also attended the rally, declared “We want these firecrackers stopped!”

In the first two months of June, the city’s 311 method clocked 849 fireworks grievances, as opposed to just 21 throughout the very same interval last year — a whopping 4,000-% surge.

The mayor’s spokeswoman, Freddi Goldstein, tweeted Monday evening that metropolis hall will announce “a multi-company crackdown on unlawful fireworks suppliers” on Tuesday morning.
