Munich – The Irish first division clash between FC Waterford and Shamrock Rovers was won by the guests 3-1, but the headlines were about the action around the 15 minute break of the game.

They met some players when some angry firecrackers exploded from the stand in the direction of the playground. For example, Waterford midfielder Anthony Wordsworth went down after a firecracker exploded.

Fireworks exploded several times in Waterford’s Worcester

The other actors, however, tried to get to safety somehow so as not to get injured in the flying fireworks. When Wordsworth sat on the ground in pain, he exploded firecrackers again.

The referee then interrupted the match and announced through the stadium announcer that he would leave the game immediately if this horrific incident was repeated.

Police quickly identified some of the fans responsible for setting off fireworks at the site and immediately removed them from the stadium.
