The MT180 is an international French speaking competition launched in Quebec, inspired by the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®), which has been organized by the Irish Universities Association in Ireland since 2021.

3 minutes in French

We invite you to listen to 23 doctoral students from 11 Irish universities and institutes of higher learning who have been selected to present themselves simply to the public in French in just three minutes. May 28, 2022 UCD at 1:30 p.m. The event is organized by the Association of Irish Universities (IUA), the Association for French and Francophone Studies in Ireland (ADF) and the French Embassy in partnership with the Agency University de la Francophone (AUF).

Candidates from the universities of Maine, Cork, Trinity, TU Dublin, RCSI, Limerick, University College Dublin, Athlone IT and Munster TU will present research topics in the fields of Mathematics, History, Biology and Computer Science. Listen and encourage them and vote for your loved ones!

The jury will award four prizes:
Belgian Ambassador to Ireland, HE Mrs. Van Vlierberg President of the 2022 Jury
Louis Parser, Director of Teaching, Learning and Academic Affairs at IUA
Dr. Adefi, President. Derval Conroy
Dr. Mary-Victor Gillette-Cestier, professor of physiology at Trinity College, Dublin
Caroline Chowier, EM Normandy Ireland Director
• Sally Finn-Kelsey, first prize in the 2021 Ireland MT180 National Final

The big winner will have the opportunity to represent Ireland in the MT180 International Final to be held in Montreal (Canada) on October 6, 2022!

The fifth prize will be given by public vote!

So expect you May 28, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. At the Newman Building Theater in University College Dublin for the National Final Competition.

Thanks to the contestants for their contributions to the prize winners:

  • The first prize winner will receive an IUA prize
  • The second place winner will receive a prize from the French Embassy in Ireland
  • The third prize will be awarded by the Belgian Embassy in Ireland
  • The Canadian Embassy in Ireland will donate books to all winners
  • The Slovak Embassy in Ireland will present prizes to all winners
  • All winners will receive an EM Normandy Dublin School Prize
