EURO M21, September play-offs, Croatia-Denmark, Slovakia-Ukraine, Ireland-Israel, Iceland-Czech Republic

The UEFA European Under-21 Championship play-offs take place on Friday and Tuesday, and the last four tickets to the 2023 finals in Romania and Georgia are handed out.

The nine group winners and the best runner-up (regardless of results against the sixth-placed teams) qualify for the final tournament, which will be held from 21 June to 8 July 2023 alongside co-hosts Georgia and Romania. Eight other runners-up are vying for the remaining four tickets.

  • In 2002, the Czech Republic were champions.
  • Ukraine was a finalist in 2006.
  • Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark and Iceland participated in the 2021 final.
  • Ireland are playing in the play-offs for the first time and could become only the second country to play in the finals in 2023, along with Georgia.
