DIn some member states of the Union, it is possible to obtain European citizenship or residency in exchange for a financial contribution. These are the “golden” passports or visas. These facilities, reserved for the rich, have been in the crosshairs of the European Parliament since 2014. This Tuesday, the Assembly will review a report, along with recommendations to the Commission, before the expiration of the Mandate, to restrict the use of visas to obtain passports against these investments and to disable the system. “We urge the Russian aristocracy to take immediate action,” said Saskia Brigmond, MEP (Greens).
