Barcelona (dpa) – German show jumpers qualified for the final round of the top eight teams at the Nations Cup finals in Barcelona.
With a total of eight penalty points, the team finished fifth after the first round, tied with the Netherlands and Switzerland. The best result of all 14 teams was achieved by the team from France, in which all four riders remained flawless. Ireland came second with four penalty points, followed by Belgium and Spain with five penalty points each.
European Champion Andre Thiem (Plau See) managed the only clear round for the German team with his mare Chakaria. His teammates Jana Wargers (Amsdeten) at Limbridge, Janne-Friedrich Meyer-Zimmerman (Pinneberg) at Messi van Ruitershof and Christian Kukuk each had to register a down at Mumbai.
For the ninth time in a row, the final of the Nations Cup Show Jumping will be held in Barcelona. The top eight teams will compete for victory in Sunday’s grand final.
