LONDON, Dec. 5 – The absence of Coleman and Lucas Digne to protect Everton from injury is still improving the quality of the team but the place, manager Carlo Ancelotti said yesterday.

Club captain Coleman resumed personal training following a hamstring problem, while the Frenchman replaced Digne with an ankle problem.

Everton visit 19th-ranked Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday. Ancelotti backed his side to tackle the practice of playing three central defenders instead of four.

I think it’s an emergency without two key players. This is only for this reason. We have the quality to play with three centerbacks because we have a lot of great centerbacks, ”Ancelotti told reporters.

“We were criminally good and we had defensive problems. Every game is an experiment to see how we are, and I hope we can get better tomorrow this year. ”

Everton, who beat Fulham 3-2 last month, overcame three consecutive league defeats but suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Leeds United last weekend.

They have conceded 10 goals in their last five games and are relegated to eighth place with 16 points from 10 games.

“Of course the result against Leeds was not great, but it was an open game. We want it to be on the table, so it’s important to get a result tomorrow, ”Ancelotti added.

“They (Burnley) are great now compared to the start of the season, and we know what kind of game to expect.” – Reuters
