Elon Musk’s The Boring Company began testing LVCC loop underground tunnels under the Las Vegas Convention Center this week.
Several videos and photographs from people who had already run through the tunnel appeared on the web. More precisely, we are talking about two 1.2 km long one way tunnels.
The tunnels are located at a depth of about 10 m. Several dozen Tesla vehicles were used for the tests, including the Model 3, Model Y and Model X. The tunnels said it was a 45-minute walk and a two-minute drive.
In one test race, he set a record of 185 kilometers per hour. During the official launch, the speed will be limited to 240 km / h.
The company says it wants to reach 4,400 people per hour through the LVC loop tunnels, but in the end some expect it to reach only 1,200 people per hour. The boring company wants to operate a large tunnel system with a capacity of 50,000 people per hour throughout the city.
