Eliant. A show with 300 school children together

Published on

For its 2023-2024 project, from 25 yearsE During the anniversary, the Eliant-Mountbellue twin committee (Ireland) planned several activities in collaboration with several associations and partners in the city, but also with the three schools. We wanted to include all the Eliant players in these celebrations because the whole commune is twinned with Ireland. Our leitmotif More than ever, this year, to do together Yves Guichard, co-president of the committee, explains.

Indeed, during the year, the committee led several workshops not only at public nursery and elementary schools, but also at Sainte-Anne School. Ireland no longer holds any secrets for little Eliantais as they get to participate in discovery workshops about Ireland and its symbols or sweet and savory Irish cooking workshops. Recently, students also participated in workshops to decorate and paint panels in the colors of Ireland that were installed at six entrances to the city. The students and their teachers invested a lot in these projects, which is why we wanted to thank them by offering a show to the kids.

More than 300 school children

The show, which was offered by a double committee to more than 300 Eliant School students, was held in the nursery classes yesterday morning and in the elementary classes on Thursday afternoon. The room was decorated with drawings and compositions prepared by all the students and both sessions ended with a glass of fruit juice and cakes. All the designs and decorations will be placed in the shop windows of merchants and old businesses in the city in preparation for the arrival of the Irish on the 7th of July.

A reception will be held in their honor on July 7 at 10:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers and an evening of Irish music and dance in association with Sam N Co on Tuesday evening, May 9. Free access is open to all.
