Humans are close to creating a device that allows flights similar to the Marvel character “Iron Man” performed by actor Robert D’Antani in junior theaters.
British inventor Richard Browning, founder and chief test pilot of Gravity Industries, believes he created a “jet suite” for solo fans, a “flying suit” with a 1050 hp jet engine.
Called the “e-Suite”, the suite is powered by electricity for the first time and is part of the company’s goal of “exceeding what is considered possible”.
Our suite is within the range of what is possible due to suit density and batteries. And yet we were able to run it today, ”Browning told Reuters, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a motorsport event held in the South. From England, the electric model “e-Suite” was first activated.
The batteries used today are powerful enough to fly a human in a matter of seconds. A similar model that provides aviation kerosene is already four minutes into flight.
“The electric suite has enough energy to fly through a small residential street. It’s amazing how much energy you have to put in to get a man out. Fuels. We’ll get there anyway, ”Browning added.
Launched in March 2017 by Gravity Industries, its founder will showcase the first aviation kerosene-powered jet suite that can reach speeds of more than 128 kilometers per hour and altitude of 3,600 meters.
Experiments with sailors and paramedics
Introduced by the company in May Your jet suite project The British Royal Navy demonstrates how equipment can help with maritime shipping operations.
The company team spent three days with 42 Royal Marines from HMS Tamar off the south coast of the UK.
The paramedics suite had already been tested in the remote Lake District area of England, endangering professionals for a fraction of the time it takes in a car or on foot.
“For military use and emergency relief; they are new applications, but they are very real,” says Browning. We did enough exercises with both groups in different groups to prove that the equipment is really strong, ”he added.
