MANILA, PHILIPPINES: Alex Eila advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITF Trophy de la Ville de Grenoble in France on Thursday, defeating Cristina Buxa of Spain 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (8).

After losing 6-3 earlier, Busa had to settle for an 8-8 draw to advance to the final set.

Eela scored the next two points to seal the ticket to the quarter-finals of the tournament, the fourth consecutive round since starting his professional career this year.

Her victory was her second consecutive triple after beating Romania’s Laura-Iona Par 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in the first round of the Grenoble tournament.

The campaign was a success for Eela, who won her first professional tournament in 2021, the first stop of the ITF Rafa Nadal Academy Tennis World Tour. He has never lost a game before the quarter-finals of the matches in which he has played.
