Dublin traffic: M1 motorway reopens with heavy delay after emergency services respond to serious collision

Published on

Dublin’s M1 motorway is closed to northbound traffic as emergency services respond to a serious collision.

Traffic is diverted through the bypass of the old swords, and the M1 is closed to the north between the J3 swords and the J4 Donabate.

The collision blocks the left and center lanes.

There have been reports of delays from J2 Dublin Airport to J3 Walls, suggesting that anyone passing that route should avoid the route if possible.

AA Roadwatch says: “The M1 Northbound between J1 Walls and J4 Donabate is closed because emergency services are facing a serious collision, diverting traffic through the old Sword Bypass, resulting in more traffic from J2 Dublin Airport to J3.”

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live that a single vehicle, including a van heading north on M1 between Garda Emergency Services J1, was present at the scene of the road traffic collision – part 12:45 on 28/09/2020.

“Road is currently closed and redirects are taking place. No further information is available at this time.”
