Dr. Sheckler in the crown: There's omicorn, and this is how summer should pass

Milanco Scheckler, a virologist and microbiologist at the Institute of Veterinary Specialists, said that to the best of his knowledge, it was important to educate people about the presence of omiciron in Serbia and where and when to wear the mask.

“Those who have not been vaccinated have been infected several times in two months, but have been infected twice in a short period of time,” Scheckler said.

He believes the summer will pass without major infections as in previous years, as people will spend more time outside.

“Because the weather will be good, people are eager for outdoor activities, so the infection is low, but we’ll see what happens next,” Sheckler said.

He reminded that the second booster dose, i.e. the fourth dose of the vaccine, has long been recommended not only for those over 60 years of age who are immunocompromised, but also for those under 60 years of age with chronic diseases.

When it comes to closing Shanghai because of Kovid, Scheckler says that 100,000 million older people in China have not been vaccinated, and that Omicron complicates the elderly, which is the reason for the closure.

– China is special in many respects, they have asymptomatic cases but they do not give up tolerance to the virus. “Unlike in Serbia, the elderly did not get vaccinated with them, and the elderly there were the most active in vaccination,” Scheckler said.
