Everyone’s PF account has a Universal Account Number (UAN). The same will be credited to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) account with the assistance of the UAE. You need to activate the same UN to understand how much money is being deposited in your account. The special feature is that even if you change the company with this particular UAN, all the PF amount during your tenure will be deposited in one place. For that, when you go to work in a new place, you have to give your previous UN there.

How do you know your UAN?

You can easily find your UN information on your pay slip. You can get this number from your workplace HR or accountant. Alternatively, you can check the UAN online by visiting EPFO’s UAN portal.

Select the UN status when you click on EPFO’s integrated member portal for UN services. You will be redirected to another page. Enter your work ID or EPF account number, name, date of birth, mobile phone number and email here. You will also get the EPF ID on the pay slip.

How to activate UAN Online?

• Go to the EPFO ​​website and click on the For Employees option in the Services menu.
• Click on the Member UAN / Online Service option on the Service page.
• After this there will be a login page on the screen. Below that, click on the Activate Universal Number Number (UAN) option.
• After entering your UAN number, date of birth, mobile number and captcha text here, click Get Authorization Pin
• An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Put it on the website and click I agree. After that your UAN will be activated.

The UAN will take at least 6 hours to activate. You can then do the work related to the PF account. You can also get information about your PF number by texting. To do this, send an EPFOHO UAN from the UN registered mobile number to 7738299899.
