NASA Mars Mission: The US space agency NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) has invited applications for a one-year special mission. What kind of training is given to people who want to travel to Mars? Four people will be selected keeping in mind the real difficulties for future missions to Mars, and they will have to live in an atmosphere similar to Mars. Selected candidates must stay for one year on the 1700 sq ft Mars Atmospheric Module Mars Dune Alpha.

Marsdon Alpha was created using the Icon 3D printer housed in the Johnson Space Center building in Houston, Texas. According to NASA, this simulated mission will begin in 2022 (September 1-30 November). In preparation for the real-life challenges of future missions to Mars, NASA said in a statement that it will study how long people can live in such environments and what changes they see in them.

What challenges will you face?

NASA announced on Twitter that it had invited applications for a mission related to Mars. This is a year-long mission in which life in other worlds will be imitated. It will start from 2022. Selected candidates will face the same challenges associated with Mars. Lack of resources, equipment failure, communication problems and other environmental barriers.

In addition, these people on the crew will have to carry out fake spacewalks and scientific research. They also have the opportunity to exchange virtual reality, robotic controls, and communication. NASA said it would receive important scientific data, regardless of the outcome of the mission. NASA is currently planning three missions, including Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog. One of the three missions starts next year.

Who can apply?

1. Age should be between 30-55 years.
2. Applicant must be a US citizen.
3. Stay in good physical health and do not smoke.
4. Completed postgraduate degree in STEM subject. For example, you must have a master’s degree in engineering, biological science, physical science, computer science, or mathematics.
5. Must have at least two years of professional experience in a STEM discipline or at least 1,000 hours of pilot-in-command experience on a jet aircraft.
