He was the Vice President of the People’s Justice Center Party from Coimbatore. R. Mahendran. In the 2019 parliamentary elections, he contested for the People’s Justice Center and garnered 1.50 lakh votes. Later, he contested and lost the 2021 assembly elections in the Singanallur constituency in the name of the People’s Justice Center.
Mahendran later became the first person to leave the party, claiming that Kamal Haasan had no democratic credentials. He was followed by several prominent executives, including Santosh Babu Kumaravel.
In this context, Mahendran recently joined the DMK with his followers. Then, volunteers will join where the leadership is right. When I came into politics I chose a leader based on activity. I relied on him. But that expectation was not fulfilled. Mahendran had said that the DMK, which had not been in power for 10 years, had performed well in the last two months.
