Portugal, the group rivals of Spain and Germany, won a lot of space in their final EM test. The 2012 and 2016 European champions drew 0-0 in a moderate clash in Madrid. Prior to the kick-off, the two countries had called for a joint auction for 2030.

Amerik Laport played his first game for Spain. The 27-year-old Manchester City defender has played 51 junior internationals for France and has been a Spanish national since May.
