Devin: “Beat us and get another ERC podium”

Davein hopes to shine in his Fiesta at this year’s FIA European Rally Championships starting next year with the 77th ORLEN Rally in Poland.

The 27-year-old, who is already on the podium at the ERC, has got the initiative to support the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy, an initiative backed by Asn Hopefuls in the country, to attend the upcoming season of the Ford Fiesta Rally E ERC, with the help of M-Sport. His teammate James Fulton will also be his co-driver.

“If possible we would like to move on to another podium at ERC”, Said the 27-year-old. “It would be great if we could get this podium. Obviously the competition at ERC is very strong, but we hope to combine with the faster ones, especially in the heats we have already participated in. We had a good training session at Fiesta and I feel relieved at that. We need a few kilometers of competition right now, and it’s good to see where our speed is. “

ERC ‘is laying the groundwork for young talent,’ says Malcolm, founder of M-Sport

He continues: “By the end of last year, we wanted to pick a place where we had stopped speeding, and from there we could improve on the top 5 and 6 positions and be more consistent – and start the year by withdrawing from our first two meetings to try to get the best points after the hard work. “

“We’re turning a new page with a new car and a new team – everything is new. We have good support from M-Sport and we are grateful to everyone who continued to support us. Challenging yourself to this level requires a lot of support, and I am pleased to welcome new partners this season, including Parts for Cars, Lyons of Limerick, Rentokil Initial, TrailerStuff.E, and Fire Protection Ireland. Without them, it would not have been possible to do this season without existing partners Quran Gate, Pirelli, TST Transport, ERS Motorsport, Marina Racewear and Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy. “

M-Sport CEO Malcolm Wilson tells OBE: “The European Rally Championship is a testing ground for young talents who have long wanted to make their mark on the world stage, and can be seen choosing this route with another young driver, Fiesta. We know the time after the best performances at the Fiesta R2 at the Junior World Rally Championships and the Fiesta R5 at Ireland. He’s talented and I can’t wait to see what he can do while handling some of the most popular events in Europe with the Fiesta Rally 2. “

M-Sportford Team Sporting Director Richard Miller adds: “It’s great to see the time behind Fiesta’s wheel and I can’t wait to see what he can do this year. He had a great season with Fiesta in 2019, finishing third overall in the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship and securing his first win in Donegal. We are all looking forward to seeing him bring these performances to the European stage. He already has a year at this level and now he is back at Fiesta and we want to help him move on to the next level. He has a first experience and we will provide all the support that will allow him to excel. The competition will be tough, but this year is the time for a young driver with a very determined determination and ability to surprise a few people. “

Devin and Fulton prepare for the 77th ORLEN Rally in Poland by taking part in the first round of the Rally Rally Emitija at the Polish Championship in Lithuania from June 4 to 6. This is the first time that the MotorSport Ireland Rally Academy’s Fiesta’s distribution has been shown to the public, allowing them to experience similar territories in neighboring Poland.
