DB Schenger is investing 10 10 million in new facilities in Ireland

A DB Shengar The European transport network continues to expand – The company recently announced an investment of 10 10 million in a new logistics center in Shannon, Ireland, in a strong and sustained commitment to the development of the western region of the country.

The official start of construction took place last December, marking the start of the work formal ceremony, the completion of which is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022, DB Schenger expects work to begin on the building.

DB reflects ‘commitment to Ireland’

We have great confidence in the Midwest region, and the additional capabilities that the new terminal will bring will allow us to expand our customer base and provide additional employment opportunities in this area. We expect the building to be completed and operational within 12 months.

The new logistics center will be located near Shannon Airport (SNN) and will provide direct access to the local road network and faster access to Ireland’s Western Corridor. Terminal DB Schenger offers customers a wide range of services, including air, sea, land transport, logistic cargo solutions and other value-added products. The surface area of ​​the new building is 4,831 square meters, including 12.5 meters high and 3,716 square meters of warehouses. The center will have TAPA certification, full coverage of CCTV video surveillance, access control, remote monitoring and other security measures.

Upon completion, the installation will comply with ISO 9001, ISO 1400 (environmental protection) and ISO 45001 (health and safety) quality certifications. Thanks to a heating system based on a combination of solar thermal installation and energy efficient heat pumps, the warehouse is air conditioned and maintains a controlled temperature in the range of 15ºC to 25ºC. LED lighting systems and charging stations for electric vehicles will be set up. The building can install these types of truck stations.

Expansion in neighboring England

DB Schenger is also developing an existing terminal at Centurion Park in Tamworth (West Midlands – England). The company is investing 3.5 3.5 million in expanding the center to 14,214 square meters with the aim of creating 100 new jobs.
