The reason why Antonio Rudiger did not switch to London rivals
Chelsea were willing to allow Antonio Rudiger to borrow from Premier League rivals Tottenham, but the player himself turned down the offer.
Following the arrival of Thiago Silva in the summer, Germany fell from the International Peking Order. He made a single start in the Champions League, but has yet to participate in this campaign in the Premier League.
Accordingly Athletic, Chelsea have softened their stance on doing business with clubs they consider to be direct rivals, but the player himself felt that going into one of Chelsea’s biggest rivals would make his life “harder”.
Without the usual opportunities, it remains to be seen whether Rudiger will be available for a loan in January in an attempt to get into a dispute with Germany’s team for the Euros.
