Chennai: The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in nine districts of Tamil Nadu today.
In a press release issued by the Chennai Meteorological Center,
Heavy rains are expected to continue until August 30 due to global warming. Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Dindigul, Nilgiris, Erode, Theni and Pondicherry.

Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Theni, Dindigul, Nilgiris, Thiruvannamalai, Salem and Pondicherry are likely to receive heavy rains tomorrow.

The sky will be overcast in Chennai for the next 48 hours. There may be light rain in some places.
Warning to fishermen
30 to 40 km in the Gulf of Mannar and the Gulf of Kumari until August 28. Fishermen are not allowed to go to the coastal areas of Kerala, Lakshadweep, South West and Midwest Arabian Sea till August 30.
