Let’s be honest: this is not the best year for your more traditional Halloween activities. COVID-19 is on the rise around the world, and even during this traditionally masked holiday season, ha parties and parties come up with their own dangers of trick or treat. We can always turn to another pastime that helped us get through the beginning of Pandemic, and still help us: Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As in life it is Halloween in the game and you can always apply strategy or treat there.

The game runs Halloween on October 31st from 5:00 pm to 12:00 pm and Isabel will remind you of the morning before it starts.

As the festivities begin, you will be visited by Jack the Halloween Sir, an illegal presence on the island. He will commission you as his companion and ask you to collect lollipops to accomplish his dark goals. If you give him a piece of candy, he will give you “Jack’s face” as a hat. Another is that he will give you a “Jacks Rob” to complete the courseplay.

You can get lollipops from giving candy to the villagers and they will be out trick or treat. When you give them candy, they will give you a spooky furniture, a recipe for some spooky furniture or a lollipop. The furniture is similar to what we see almost every month, but there are a few recipes that are unique to Halloween:

• Spooky Garland
• Spooky table setting
• Spooky wall
• Spooky flooring
• Spooky rug

When you look for lollipops you will probably get a bunch of furniture, but eventually one of the villagers leaves the stuff. If they do not need more candy at once, talk to someone else and come back. You will notice that some of your villagers are in their homes: go inside and talk to them about some bonus candies.

If you give Jack a lollipop, the remarkable Cinderella-style Spooky cart will reward you. Another lollipop, he will give you your own recipe. The third lollipop will provide the Spooky Wand recipe.

Those are the basics, but one more tip: when you run out of candy, wear Jack’s clothes and Jack’s face. You can scare the villagers to give you more candy before they realize it is you.
