The guideline states that convergence should take place outside and that convergence should be kept to a minimum as it reduces the risk of COVID-19 contraction. The guideline states that contact tracing should then collect the names of all participants and provide contact information if necessary.
“Gatherings can occur in dot-door areas covered by umbrellas, canopies, awnings, roofs, and other shady structures, with the dot-door open on at least three sides (or 75%).” Says the CDPH website.
Additional guidelines include:
- For any convergence allowed under this guideline, the space must be large enough so that everyone in a reunion can always maintain a physical distance of 6 feet from others (including their own household).
- Seating should be provided at a distance of at least 6 feet between different houses (in all directions – from front to back and sides).
- Everyone at the meeting should wash their hands frequently with soap and water, or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available. Participants must have a hand wash area or hand sanitizer to use.
- Do not use shared items while assembling. Whenever possible you should have all of these ingredients in single serving disposable containers. If single-serve containers are not available, a person who frequently washes, cleans, or covers his or her face should be provided with food and beverages. Do not use self-serving items from community utensils.
Anyone with symptoms such as COVID-19, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, cold, night sweats, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, confusion or loss of appetite, and contact with anyone outside their home Should CDPH Said the guide.
Anyone developing COVID-19 within 48 hours of attending a meeting should inform other participants as soon as possible about other exposures.
People with a high incidence of morbidity or mortality from COVID-19, as well as the elderly and those with chronic medical conditions, are strongly requested not to attend any conference.
