The Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the UK have approved a multi-net Netflix deal for both scripted and unscripted television series, documentaries, movies and children’s content.
News of Prince Harry and Megan Markle’s new venture was first reported New York Times.
In a statement, the royal couple said: “Our lives as independent and couples have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: courage, vitality, and the need for connection.
“Through our work with diverse communities and their environs, our focus will be on shining a light on people and causes around the world, creating content that is informative and promising.
“As new parents, it’s important for us to produce inspiring family programming, as well as strong storytelling through honest and relative lenses.
“We are happy to be working with Ted [Sarandos, Netflix Co-CEO and Chief Content Officer] And the team at Netflix will help us share effective content that unlocks unprecedented reach functionality. “
Netflix boss Sarandos said the couple has inspired millions of people around the world through their authenticity, optimism and leadership.
He described Netflix as “proud” and “excited” to collaborate with them in storytelling, helping to invigorate them and increase audience perceptions everywhere.
