Barcelona vs Real Sociedad score: goals from Jordi Alba and Frankie de Jong lead to La Liga victory

Published on

A 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad on Wednesday in La Liga. In the 1-0 win over UD Levante ahead of Wednesday’s match against Sociedad, the home team, Jordi Alba and Frankie de Jong, put on heroics in front of goal to continue Barcelona’s new winning streak.

Barcelona, who went on the right foot to start the match, have now won two games. The team is connecting better than the big team this season, and American Sergino Dest seems to be narrow with attacks on the right. But it was Real Sociedad who opened the scoring for their early dominance. Barcelona had an early look at the goal but Real Sociedad smashed their first shot.

Failing clearance from one corner would keep Robin Le Normond at bay, and the relationship between him and Port confused Barcelona’s back line as Willian Jose had to tap into the opening goal.

The lead will be short-lived as Barcelona continue to be dangerous in the attack, finding the equalizer four minutes later. Antoine Griezmann will set a ball, redirect to a waiting album in the space of his pass box, balance things and bury the ball in the top right corner.

Barcelona’s quick pass and play from behind would ensure that Real Sociedad maintain their lead and create the bar instead of creating pressure for Barcelona, with Barcelona aiming to advance just before half-time in the 43rd minute.

De Jong pulled his defender out of the box and connected to the goal from a ball that deviated from Alba’s post. After a preliminary test with VAR, the target will remain.

Despite the first opening goal, it was the fight for Real Sociedad that continued with Barcelona in the first 45 minutes. They had very little possession and shot 10 to 3 shots. It was a big job to contain and create, however Jose and Isaac had the best chances to equalize in the second half as the game wore on ahead of the goal. League leaders Atletico Madrid drew 26 points, but the defeat knocked Real Sociedad out of first place today.

This is Barcelona’s second win in a row. Experienced Sergio Busquets quickly outplayed their opposition through midfield play. Despite the victory, Bara had clouds. Antoine Griezmann struggled to find the back of the net as he missed a great opportunity early in the second half. Griezmann had four shots worth a total of 1.37 goals but could not find the back of the net.

With the victory, Barcelona raised the level of La Liga. They entered the match day in eight places and are now in fifth place with 20 points. Just six points separated Atletico Madrid, Real Sociedad and Real Madrid into the top three. Bluegrana will have a chance to face 12th-placed Valencia on Saturday.
