Sky and Amazon today announced a long-term partnership, under which Prime Video will be available on Sky Q, TV and Sky Ticket devices across Europe from December 14, and now on TV and Sky Ticket applications on compatible Fire TV devices. The Fire TV version will be available for smart TVs. Customers in Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Ireland and Italy can watch movies and sports offers from the popular and award-winning series, Sky and Prime Video at one place during Christmas.
Amazon is introducing the new original series The Wildhouse or The Grand Tour: A Big Hunt, both of which launch in December, and Sky Queue, now with TV and Sky ticket equipment, is getting even more fun – on a single device in the bundle. At Christmas, movie fans can enjoy the latest releases and popular movies from Prime Video, including Knives Out, Borat Connection Movie and Parana, all perfect for the ultimate movie marathon.
“We are delighted to have our Prime Video app available on Sky Q, now on TV and Sky Ticket devices during the holidays,” said Jay Marine, Vice President of Prime Video Worldwide. “Winter is in a corner, and our new addiction series Wilds is coming soon – a great time for Sky users to enjoy our award – winning Prime Video Series, movies, and live sports, including exclusive live broadcasts of 20 games from the Prima League video in the UK this December. With the launch of TV and Sky Ticket, it’s never been easier for users to decide how to view anything. “
Stephen Van Ruan, EVP & CEO UK & Europe Sky: “This year Sky Q customers will receive a Christmas gift in the form of an Amazon Prime video on their receivers. Anyone who needs the new series feed after the Sky Atlantic rollback can now switch directly to the boys in Prime Video without leaving the Sky Queue. Prime Video TV series, movies, and other content will be shown along with Sky Originals, Netflix content, apps like YouTube, and more. This makes it much easier for users to get all the entertainment they love in one place. I’m glad this deal gives more people access to our best TV and Sky Ticket apps through Amazon Fire TV tools. “
The Prime Video app will launch on December 14 on TVs now in Great Britain, Ireland and Italy, and on Sky Ticket devices in Germany. Now the TV app will launch on select Fire TVs and Fire TV Edition smart TVs in the UK on December 14th, and in early 2021 in Italy and Ireland. In Germany, Sky Tickets will be available in the first half of 2021 on compatible Fire TV devices and Fire TV version smart TVs.
Use Prime Video in Sky Queue.
Sky Q customers can easily find Prime Video by opening the app with the voice command “Start Prime Video”, thus connecting the Sky Q receiver to their existing Prime membership.
